Dan Cotton is the pen name of Phil Mayne:

Phil spent the first fifteen years of his working life travelling the world with the Grey Funnel Line (Royal Navy). He then joined the world of commerce and pretty much carried on travelling as before. In the eighties, he started a business that eventually listed on the Stock Exchange and delisted in 1989 after the crash of 1987. He didn’t make much money, but he learned the hard way, about the underbelly of high-end business operations and decided there were better ways to earn a crust.

Twelve years in the IT world kept him going until he decided to do his own thing and start an art gallery with a picture framing service. They are all in the past and in the event that he doesn’t make squillions from his writing, he’ll still be scratching away until he carks it.

Who is Dan Cotton? Sometimes, even he’s not sure. He’s one of those folks who, no matter where they are in the world, will always be mistaken for someone else.

Phil has published fourteen books as Dan Cotton to date:

Triptych, Toxic Trade, Terrorist, WTF, Quarry, Bird of Prey, Full Circle, End Game, Spore, The Second Meridian, Traffic, Recoverance Inc, Plausible Deniability (these latter three are currently only available at our stall at weekend markets). He is currently working on a new novel entitled the “Owl And the Pussycat” all of which are mystery novels with an Australian cast of characters, and he has penned a short story anthology entitled ”The Girl With The Green Apple”.

Dan is happy to sign his printed books and sells them on the Artistic Quilting stall at weekend Markets in York, Toodyay and Northam. Other markets occasionally as promulgated on Facebook @dantheragman2
